Customer Analytics is a critical area within the marketing function. We bring our customers to life through the quantitative data that they generate.   Using a range of analytical techniques we extract understanding from customer data in order to serve them better. It also gives us a good idea of how we’re performing, and what we need to do to be even better. These make a huge difference to customers, and give Tesco an edge in the market.

You could spend time working in one or more of these areas:

  • Customer Analytics
  • Online Insight
  • Trade Analysis
  • Customer Strategy

The programme will be based in Hertfordshire.

This is a 2 year programme. First you have an induction, followed by hands-on in-store experience. Then you rotate around different Customer Analysis areas, building skills such as:

  • Identifying trends from customer shopping behaviour
  • Accessing in-house data through a query language
  • Turning complex data into actionable findings
  • Strategic analysis and problem structuring
  • Collaborating with our external data partners

Current graduates are working on activities like:

  • Operating at the heart of the business to influence the decision making of Tesco's Leadership team.
  • Building models to highlight opportunities for our customer groups
  • Measuring the performance of a new delivery proposition in our online business

• We have over 8 million transactions going through our tills every day
• Following a colleague voucher for free fish fingers, we sold an additional 6.3 tonnes of fish fingers the following week
• In the week leading up Mother’s Day we sold 8 times as many flowers as we would in a normal week

Please be aware, that as a candidate you can only apply for one Tesco Graduate scheme.
